If you’re going to build a website, it may as well be on WordPress. That’s what we at The Music Entrepreneur HQ believe.

There are plenty of good reasons to build on WordPress, not the least of which is the fact that it’s the most popular website building tool available. So, if you ever end up doing website work on the side, or you decide to make plugins and themes for WordPress, you’ll be glad you spent the time necessary to learn how to use it.

Now, to get ranked in search, there’s a little something called Search Engine Optimization (or SEO) that comes into play. If your website is properly optimized, you can generate more traffic, which you can then turn into email subscribers or customers.

As a musician, you might not be overly concerned about SEO. The most important thing you need to be thinking about is being the first result in Google for your band or artist name. And, that’s generally as simple as setting up a website and adding relevant content to it.

But if you’re a music entrepreneur with a business website, this is another matter entirely. SEO is critically important to your success, especially if you’re invested in a content marketing strategy.
